News Update: New Website, New Preset Packs and PunchBox 2
It’s been a while since the last “news” update, and things have been fairly quiet on the website over the past few years. So I thought it would be a good time to share a broader update — from the new website to upcoming releases.
First things first: the website has received a major update! This redesign has been in the works for quite some time and was long overdue. I hope you like it, especially the new product pages with their new design and layout. As you may noticed, all CFA-Sound products can now once again be purchased directly through the website, basically just like in the early days. The help desk area has also been restructured to make it clearer and easier to navigate. And of course, the blog has been completely revamped. It’s now more organized and will be updated much more frequently with interesting articles, guides, and other useful content.
There are also two new releases, including an updated UI skin & preset pack for Vanguard 2.
MIMIC-2 is a complete overhaul of my existing UI skins and presets for reFX Vanguard 2. Due to changes in Vanguard 2’s interface and new features, the previous skins were no longer compatible. As a result, I redesigned everything from the ground up, with noticeably improved visuals and usability. Much like the upcoming UI skin pack for Nexus 5, the designs draw inspiration from classic vintage synthesizers. The update will be available free of charge for existing customers.
The second release is a free Ableton Live Rack called “WARP – Acid Bass Rack.” It recreates the iconic TB-303 sound, based on Ableton`s Wavetable synth and a custom FX chain. It comes with 16 macros, XX sub presets, and XX MIDI files. And as mentioned – it`s free!
There’s also plenty more in the pipeline, with several new releases coming soon:
– Melodic Techno presets for Xfer Serum 2
– UI skins for reFX Nexus 5
– Dub Techno presets for u-he Diva
– A range of preset packs for Arturia synths
Some other products have also been in development for quite a while, including a detailed vintage-style UI theme for u-he Diva. It’s both complex and quite time-consuming, but I’m hoping to complete it this year.
Over the course of the year, there will most likely also be additional preset packs for hardware synths. This is something I’ve been wanting to focus on for a long time. Some of these packs will take a slightly different direction than usual—but more on that once everything is finalized.
And finally, the third major update – something I’m really excited about: D16 PunchBox 2 is close to release.
Development took a little longer than planned, but that extra time went into refining every detail and expanding the feature set.
The result is a more powerful and polished version that builds on the intuitive workflow of the original. It may look familiar at first, but PunchBox 2 delivers a substantial upgrade with a range of great new features.
Once PunchBox 2 is released, I’ll share more detailed information here, including an overview of the new features.
That’s all for now. Cheers, Martin
