CFA-Sound End User License Agreement

End User License Agreement (EULA)

This license applies to all CFA-Sound products, whether obtained free of charge or purchased, and whether obtained directly from CFA-Sound or through authorized distribution partners.

By downloading, installing, opening, or using any CFA-Sound product, you agree to the terms of this license. 

1. License Grant

All CFA-Sound products are licensed, not sold. Ownership and all intellectual property rights remain with CFA-Sound.

CFA-Sound grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free, single-user license to use the product on a worldwide basis for the duration of the applicable copyright term, subject to the terms of this license. 

2. Scope of Application

This license applies to:

  • Products purchased from the CFA-Sound website
  • Products purchased or obtained via authorized resellers
  • Products provided free of charge (“Free Products”)

Free Products are not public domain and are subject to the same license terms as paid products, unless explicitly stated otherwise. 

3. Permitted Use

You may use CFA-Sound products and their content in your own commercial and non-commercial audio and multimedia productions, including but not limited to:

  • Music productions
  • Film, television, and broadcast
  • Games, applications, and interactive media
  • Online content and streaming platforms

All usage is royalty-free. You retain full ownership of your own creative works created using CFA-Sound products. 

4. General Restrictions

You may NOT:

  • Copy, share, distribute, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, lend, trade, or otherwise make available any CFA-Sound product or its content, in whole or in part, to any third party
  • Upload or place the product or its content on any file-sharing, cloud-sharing, or public network
  • Use the product or its content in a way that allows extraction, reuse, or redistribution by third parties

You may install and use the product on multiple devices owned or controlled by you, provided that only you use the product. 

5. Audio Content License

(Samples, Loops, Presets, MIDI Files)

CFA-Sound audio content may be used freely within musical compositions and productions.

You may NOT:

  • Use the content to create or distribute sound libraries, sample packs, preset packs, virtual instruments, synthesizers, or similar competing products
  • Isolate, extract, or redistribute the content as standalone files
  • Claim ownership of the original audio content itself 

6. Software License

(VST / AU / AAX Plugins)

CFA-Sound software products are licensed for personal use only.

You may NOT:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the software
  • Circumvent any copy protection, licensing, or security mechanisms
  • Transfer, resell, sublicense, or share the software or license with third parties 

7. Graphic Assets License

(Skins, User Interfaces, Visual Elements)

Graphic assets provided with CFA-Sound products are licensed for use solely in connection with the corresponding CFA-Sound product.

You may NOT:

  • Use graphic assets independently of the CFA-Sound product
  • Extract, reuse, modify, or redistribute graphic assets in any other software, hardware, or visual product
  • Use graphic assets for branding, marketing, or standalone design purposes 

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CFA-Sound shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the product.

CFA-Sound does not guarantee exclusivity of sounds or content and is not responsible for conflicts arising from the use of similar or identical sounds by other licensees. 

9. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. It will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any term of this license. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the product and destroy all copies in your possession. 

10. Governing Law

This license shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. 

11. Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning

The use of any CFA-Sound product or its content for the purpose of training, developing, or operating artificial intelligence systems, machine learning models, neural networks, or similar technologies is strictly prohibited.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Dataset creation
  • Model training or fine-tuning
  • Generative audio, music, or sound systems
  • Commercial or non-commercial AI applications

Any such use constitutes a material breach of this license.
